An Evening Shared with Jasper Carrott and Alistair McGowan

Comedy legends Jasper Carrott and Alistair McGowan are joining forces to split the bill and your sides with a night of comedy stand up and impressions. Drawing on their wealth of experience the two masters of comedy present a show of pure laughter and entertainment that is not to be missed.

When the pair first teamed up last year for a one off festival appearance it proved a match made in comedy heaven and the chance to work together again was simply too good to miss. Splitting the evening between them, the mix of Jasper’s inimitable stand up and Alistair’s peerless impressions is a terrific experience for the audience and the artists alike.

Jasper took a break from live performance after a 40 year career that has taken him around the globe and seen him showered with awards including the prestigious BBC TV Personality of the Year and the British Comedy Awards Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2003 Jasper was awarded an OBE in Her Majesty’s New Year’s Honours List, in recognition of his outstanding work for charity.

He’s back now for what may be his final live shows, and thrilled to be working with Alistair. Jasper said: “After last year we both wanted to do more together. For me the chance to work with such an accomplished performer as Alistair is a dream come true. Just past my 70th year, this might be my last series of shows. It means I can go out on a high in the best comedy company.”

Jasper added that he was looking forward to returning to Hull and to visit the new arena.

Jasper said: “I am genuinely thrilled that the City Of Culture has worked so well for Hull. I’ve been working in Hull and the surrounding area for over 40 years and it’s always been a delight to go back and see so many old friends. Now with the added bonus of the new infrastructure and this fabulous new venue I’m looking forward to it even more!"
